Payment & Prices

  • You can pay for your order by Visa, Visa Debit / Electron, MasterCard, American Express and Maestro. 
     
  • We cannot accept payment by any other method.
     
  • Payment must be made within 24 hours of the Auction ending by logging into your account and completing the checkout process. Failure to do so may result in the item being offered to the next bidder or being re-listed and may also result in you being blocked from the site.
     
  • All prices and products quoted are subject to alteration or withdrawal without notice from time to time.
     
  • All prices are correct at the time of the product going to Auction.
     
  • We try to ensure that the prices and information on our website are accurate but we are not responsible for errors that may occur.
     
  • Please note that the product will be sold for the bid price won. Auction orders are excluded from any promotions, further discounts etc including energy efficiency discount.
     
  • When processing your order, the information provided will be subject to credit and fraud prevention checks. For these purposes we may transfer your information to third parties and / or countries outside the EEA.
     
  • All prices quoted on our Web Site include VAT.
     
  • While all reasonable care is taken to protect the confidentiality of your order and credit card details we cannot be liable if, through no fault of our own, these details are intercepted by and used by third parties.
     
  • Please note that the amount payable by all customers, regardless of the method of payment, will be the same.

Delivery

  • We only delivery to addresses on the UK mainland, Northern Ireland & the Isle of Wight.
     
  • Products must be delivered and cannot be collected from Comet stores or delivery depots. 
  • For security reasons, the 1st order you place with us will only be delivered to the cardholders address. You may select an alternative delivery address for any subsequent orders you place with us. The change of address MUST be done at time of purchase as we may not be able to change it at a later date for logistical reasons.
     
  • Products are sourced and despatched from different locations in the UK, therefore delivery on Auction goods is charged per item.
     
  • If you have ordered multiple items they may be delivered separately.
     
  • We require you to sign a delivery note on receipt of the goods.
     
  • Deliveries are booked on the condition that there is reasonable access for the safe and prompt delivery of the product. Any special requirements should be notified to us at the point of ordering or BEFORE delivery has occurred.
     
  • The delivery service does not include installation of the product or removal of the old appliance. These services can be added on to your order once you have won the bid.
     
  • If arranging an external installation, we recommend that you do not book fitters to install your appliances until you have received and inspected your goods.
     
  • Any damage or discrepancies, should be identified to the delivery personnel and noted on their delivery notes.
     
  • In most cases any damage issues will be resolved at the point of delivery.
     
  • Any damage or discrepancies not dealt with by the delivery personnel should be reported directly to us WITHIN 7 days of delivery. Failure to comply with this instruction will deem that you have accepted the goods and you will be unable to return them.
     
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that you have signed for the correct goods and number of goods delivered.
     
  • Do not fit or use a product that is incorrect or different to that which was ordered. Failure to comply with this instruction will deem that you have accepted the goods and you we will be unable to return them.

Installation

  • Appliances can only be connected to existing standard services designed for the relevant appliance type.
     
  • Gas appliances must only be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Cancellation

  • It is not possible to cancel an Auction bid once you have won the auction.
     
  • Failure to pay for goods won may result in you being blocked from the site.

Faulty Items

  • All products are covered by a 12 month guarantee.
     
  • The guarantee will not apply if the fault arises from fair wear and tear in our reasonable opinion, deliberate damage, accidental damage, negligence, abnormal working conditions, failure to follow manufacturer instructions, misuse or alteration or repair of the goods without manufacturer approval.
     
  • This does not affect your rights to claim for defective or faulty goods or workmanship under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) or the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982.
     
  • If your product does not work or appears not to be working correctly, please first check the manufacturers instruction book to ensure that it has been installed and is being used correctly. You should always refer to the operating, care and maintenance instructions in relation to each product.
     
  • If your product is faulty you must contact our Customer Support Centre on 08712 009 009 (Calls to this number cost 10p per minute plus network extras) and select option 3, where our customer service advisers will talk you through the problem and advise you of the next step. 
  • An engineer will visit you, free of charge, and either repair your product or, if it cannot be repaired, give you details to arrange a refund.
     
  • THERE IS NO EXCHANGE POLICY ON AUCTION GOODS
     
  • If the engineer cannot find a fault with the product you may incur a call out charge.
